மனம் மகிழ செய்த மலரோவியம்

 வாழும் நொடிகள் வெறுமையாய் தோன்றிய போதெல்லாம், அர்த்தம் இல்லாத பயணம் இதுவோ என்ற கேள்வி எழும் போதெல்லாம் ..பள்ளம் தேடும் வெள்ளம் போல், கலையை நாடி ஓடும் பக்குவம் பெற்று விட்டது என் மனம்.  அத்தகு ஒரு தருவாயில், அழிவில்லா பதாகையில்  இறைவன் தீட்டிய இயற்க்கை ஓவியத்தை நான் பிரதிபலிக்க  முயற்சித்த பொழுது ...மேகம் மறைக்கும் கொடிகளும்  ... கொடிகளை மறைக்கும் மலர்களும் ... தீபம் சுமக்கும் விளக்குகளும்.....என் சோகம் மறக்க செய்தன..... 

Peacocks in Love!!

My experiments with acrylics and canvas.

I have found the peacock and its mesmerizing feathers always enticing.

Peacock motifs/prints/designs in temples, arts ,sculptures,temples, silk sarees even earrings...I love them all. So when I decided to give painting a shot ...it was just natural that I chose the bird with ethereal feathers... the process of painting this piece of artwork was so therapeutic,more so because I was painting two lovely peacocks perched on a branch  of a tree on the river bank.... The turquoise blues, emerald greens, shocking pink flowers and the floating lotus...The output gave me absolute mental bliss.....  

Boondhi - Unity in Diversity

This has been in the wish list for long ..and one fine evening when I felt , I was punishing myself too hard with my food choices....as if what the lock down was doing to me isn't enough ... I head to the kitchen counter with all that ferocity....
fry up the yellow drops.... add the hard ground nuts, crunchy curry leaves, crisply fried cashews ..and a few other nuts (trying to overcome the guilt of making the a snack that bathes in oil).... BINGO...all the ingredients with different colors and quality come together to make my taste buds react(such a rarity). .. and thus UNITY in DIVERSITY!!

Samosas!!

I had no luck winning over my husband, that nothing compliments a rainy evening like hot hot samosas... and tea. To add to my woes ... the ketchup and mayo jars as I anticipated weren't empty!!  SO in my view turned out to be a sinful Evening.

Coconut Cookies.....

One fine evening, after reading a long post on the wellness of coconut, was so tempted to gobble up a lot of coconut pieces, only to realise that fresh coconuts are a rarity in this part of the world, thats when the the "dessicated coconut" packet at the kitchen counter smiled at me ... But i dont know what on earth made me think of the unhealthiest snack that can be made out of them. Thanks to my daughters who keep ranting about my healthy food experiments , and for once asked me to make something that can be actually EATEN.... and yes!!!

There you go.... COCONUT COOKIES.
P.S. I still stuck to brown sugar and whole wheat flour, the secret that my kids did not know....

Auguberine Egg Rings...

Spinach Dal curry , Parboiled Rice and Auguberine Egg Rings...that added a lot of zing to the menu and character to our lunch time!!
